Absolutely love Crossfit GTX, they let me drink wine in the box. Not good? I joined Crossfit GTX almost a year ago now, and became addicted about 2 months later. Not only is Crossfit an amazing, body-transforming workout, but the support and social side of Crossfit GTX is second to no other gym I have been a part of. As part of my training, I have had to use the services of Sangeetha (the in house physiotherapist) at Elements Medical Fitness. She is both kind and strong in her effective treatment of all my sports related issues, as well as being a super fabulous person in general! I recommended her services to everyone! Sangeetha is very knowledgeable. She diagnosed my pain swiftly and improved my condition in the first few sessions. A detailed advice and exercises were given that are invaluable for keeping me in good condition.
After giving birth to my baby is August 2015, I suffered a chronic lower back pain whereby I was not able to sleep on my back, bend to pick up things, carry my baby, or do my everyday routine like going to the gym. I did a spine X-Ray and later found out that I had a broken bone and minor scoliosis. I went to a physiotherapy that was referred by the hospital for 3months and was left frustrated as I didn’t get better but worse. They did not treat the cause of the pain but merely just managing my pain. After almost giving up, a friend at the gym referred me to Sangeetha. I must admit I wasn’t coming with much hope. Sangeetha spent more time assessing my injury than anyone had ever done and noticed things others have missed like how I was actually suffering from diastasis recti apart from the broken bone and scoliosis. From there, Sangeetha gradually helped me put together a routine of electrotherapy to treat my lower back pain, trx for my diastasis recti and stretching for my scoliosis that over time helped to heal.
During my childhood, I have injured my back when I accidentally fell down on the staircase. Since then, I felt the pain whenever I carried heavy things and/or worked on something for long hours. For the doctors whom I have visited during that period of time, they advised me to avoid involving in any serious activity that may cause to this pain. Everything seemed good for quite sometime until the day when I had got an Acute Back Injury before the Chinese New Year lately, which caused me having difficulties moving my body, standing up, walking or even driving. After consulting Cindy, a Physiotherapist at Elements Wellness, she said “You should overcome your back pain much earlier by STRENGHTENING your body instead of avoiding it!!!” By having taken the 10 sessions of physio treatments, she has provided me with a set of body stretching, strengthening exercises and therapeutic methods, which I can see a positive improvement over time. Cindy is knowledgeable, approachable and always take the time needed for resolving my back pain. And therefore, I am glad to have consulted her on this issue. Most importantly is what I have learned from this Physio Treatment Program can be very useful for a lifetime.
I joined this programme with the intention to lose weight and gain health. In this 8 weeks, I learned how to understand the food I eat and how my body work with this food.
